Thursday 6th June

Arrive – Registration from 15.00 in Rutland Suite

Friday 7th June

09.00                Friday Briefing – in car park

09.15 – 10.00   Greetham to Stoke Rochford (30 – 35 minutes driving time)
10.00 – 10.30   Coffee/Tea at Stoke Rochford
10.30  – 12.30 Stoke Rochford to Heckington Mill (1 hr 10 mins – 1 hr 20 mins)
12.30 – 14.00  Lunch and visit Heckington Mill
14.00 – 15.00  Heckington Mill to Easton Walled Garden (60 – 65 minutes)
15.00               Afternoon Tea and garden visit at Easton Walled Garden
Easton Walled Garden to Greetham (30 – 40 minutes)

19.00 – 20.00  Buffet – served in The Rutland Suite

Saturday 8th April

08.45               Saturday Briefing – in car park

09.00 – 09.30 Greetham to Rutland Water (15 – 20 minutes)
09.30               Boarding ‘Rutland Belle’ and get Coffee/Tea
10.00 – 10.30  Cruise Rutland Water on the ‘Rutland Belle’
11.00 – 13.00  Rutland Water to Launde Abbey (1hr 30 mins – 1 hr 45 mins)
13.00 – 14.00 Lunch at Launde Abbey
14.00 – 15.00  Launde Abbey to Rutland Rocks (Railway museum) (45 – 50 minutes)
15.00               Afternoon Tea and visit Rutland Rocks
Rutland Rocks to Greetham (45 – 55 minutes or 10 minutes short route)

19.30                  Gala Dinner

Sunday 9th April

09.30               Sunday Briefing – in car park

09.45 – 10.30   Greetham to Grimsthorpe Castle – estate entrance (Approx 30mins
10.30 – 11.00   Drive through estate (approx. 15 mins)
11.00               Coffee/Tea at Grimsthorpe Coach House
As required     Grimsthorpe Castle to Greetham (40 – 45 minutes)

Friday Briefing

  • Road quality – fairly good in Lincs except when stated in route instructions
  • Petrol availability – Ram Jam and just after lunch
  • Stops
    • Stoke Rochford – Marshal Parking for photo opportunity
    • Heckington Mill – parking
    • Easton Walled Garden
  • One mile of off road driving on 2nd leg , but quite good track – alternative supplied
  • Mostly flat

 Saturday Briefing

  • Road quality – good (high Rutland rates!) except when stated
  • Petrol availability – Ram Jam and just before tea in Oakham Coop
  • Stops
    • Rutland Water – Marshal Parking on foreshore for photo
    • Please try to board Rutland Belle asap after 9.30
    • Marshals will look after cars whilst you cruise
    • ABH on gangway will give paid exit ticket on disembarking
    • Half way through Leg 2 – gated road – marshalled
    • Launde – Marshal Parking on grass in front of Abbey for photo
    • Rutland Rocks – can drive train
  • Many missing/broken road signs (preparation for war??)
  • Some hills between Coffee and Lunch, and between Lunch and Tea

Sunday Briefing

    • Grimsthorpe
    • Off road in Grimsthorpe Estate before Coffee – but good track – assemble at estate entrance in Little Bytham and convoy through estate to Marshalled Parking in the castle forecourt (for photo opportunity)
